Side effects by medication
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Medications
Sildenafil: Around 16% of men experience side effects. Common issues include headaches, facial flushing, and indigestion. These typically resolve once treatment is stopped.
Cialis® or Tadalafil: Fewer than 10% of men experience side effects. Common issues include headaches, indigestion, back pain, and muscle aches. These typically resolve once treatment is stopped.
Migraine Medications (Sumatriptan, Rizatriptan, and Zolmitriptan)
Common side effects affect fewer than 1 in 10 people and are usually mild. They include:
Nausea and vomiting.
Drowsiness and dizziness.
Chest tightness or dry mouth.
Unusual sensations such as numbness, tingling, or warmth.
Antiviral Medications (Acyclovir, Valacyclovir/Valtrex®, and Famciclovir)
Side effects are generally mild and may include:
Headaches and dizziness.
Nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
Fatigue.
Antifungal & Antibiotic Medications
Fluconazole: Common side effects include stomach upset, constipation, headache, nausea, and vomiting.
Nitrofurantoin: The most common side effect is an upset stomach. Taking this medication with or after food may help minimize discomfort.
Finasteride (Hair Loss)
Side effects are uncommon but may include:
Decreased libido.
Erectile dysfunction.
Mood changes.
Sertraline (Mental Health)
Common side effects may include:
