How to Upload Your ID and Selfie

Overview

To maintain the highest security standards and comply with US medical regulations, ZipHealth requires identity verification for all patients. This process ensures your sensitive health data remains protected and confirms that prescription treatments and weight verification are being handled for the correct individual.

ZipHealth uses a two-step identity verification process. This may involve providing a government-issued photo ID, a current verification selfie (including for weight verification), or both, depending on what you've been asked to provide.

Use this article to:

  • Understand why ZipHealth requires identity verification.

  • Learn how to submit your government-issued ID and selfie by email, SMS, or live chat.

  • Follow the specific guidelines for a valid ID photo and verification selfie.

  • Understand what happens after you submit your ID or selfie, and what to do if you need further help.

How to Submit Your Photo ID or Selfie

You can submit your ID photo or verification selfie to ZipHealth through any of the following three channels:

  • Email: Attach your photo to an email and send it to care@ziphealth.co. If you're replying to an existing verification email from ZipHealth, you can attach your photo directly to that reply. You'll receive an automated response confirming your submission has been received.

  • SMS/Text: Attach your photo to a text message and send it to 888-510-3320. You'll receive an automated response confirming your submission has been received.

  • Live Chat: Log in to your ZipHealth account and access Live Chat from there. When you upload your photo through Live Chat, you'll be connected with a live ZipHealth representative to assist you directly.

To help our team match your submission to your account as quickly as possible, please include your ZipHealth order number when submitting your photo by email or SMS, if you have it available. Our team matches submissions to your account using the email address or phone number you send it from, so including your order number helps speed up the process, though it is not required.

Photo ID Requirements

If you've been asked to provide a photo ID, you'll need to submit a clear image of a valid, government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport.

Before you submit your photo ID, please ensure:

  • Clarity: The photo is bright and clear — not dark or blurry.

  • Visibility: All four corners of the ID are fully visible in the frame.

  • Unobstructed: Nothing is covering any part of the ID text or your photo.

  • Not expired: The provided ID must not be expired - Expired ID cannot be accepted

If you were only asked to update your ID, you are all set once it has been submitted. If you are a first-time patient, or if you were asked to update your selfie, please also submit a verification selfie as described below.

Please note : The name on the provided ID must match the name on your account

Verification Selfie Requirements

If you've been asked to provide a verification selfie, this helps our team confirm that the person requesting treatment matches the ID provided, or supports weight verification where required.

Before you submit your selfie, please ensure:

  • Face visibility: Your entire face must be clearly visible.

  • Lighting: Use a well-lit area so the photo is not dark or grainy.

What Happens After You Submit Your ID or Selfie

  • If you submit by email or SMS: You'll receive a response confirming your photo has been received. Our team will review your submission and contact you if we need a clearer image or any further information to complete your verification.

  • If you submit by Live Chat: You'll be connected with a live ZipHealth representative as soon as you upload your photo, so any issues can typically be resolved during that same conversation.

Please note : If any issues are identified with your uploads, a ZipHealth representative will reach out to assist you.

Tips for a Successful Submission

  • Clean your lens: Quickly wipe your camera lens to prevent blurry photos.

  • Natural light: Take your photos near a window during the day for the best clarity.

  • Stability: If using a smartphone, prop it against a solid surface to avoid camera shake.

Why do I need to verify my identity to receive weight loss medication from ZipHealth?

To legally prescribe and dispense weight loss medication, ZipHealth is required to carry out a two-step identity verification process. This process includes:

  1. A government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport)

  2. A current photo of yourself (a selfie taken at the time of verification)

Identity verification is a legal requirement to confirm that the correct person is receiving the prescription. You only need to complete identity verification with ZipHealth once.

If you still need help after reviewing the information above, additional assistance is available.
